Welcome to Pug Mug Photo!
I had always dreamed of owning a pug. While I don’t think it was my husband’s dream he became quietly obsessed with the little canine comedians too and 11 years ago we rescued Bodie from Pug Rescue of Florida!! Little did we know that adding him to our family would introduce us to lifelong friends, a new level of philanthropy and laughs and giggles every single day!!
As our involvement in the pug world grew over the first few years we owned Bodie we decided that we would like to rescue a second pug, a senior pug who needed a safe, loving place to spend his twilight years.
We found Spanky at Pug Rescue of Florida. He was 10 years old and completely blind. Could we take a blind pug we all asked ourselves? YES! Of course we could! We drove the three hours down to Orlando and brought Spanky home. It was a bit of a bumpy ride at first as Bodie was a little jealous, but it didn’t take him long to love his new brother.
We were instantly smitten with Spanky! We had created an instagram for Bodie and quickly changed the handle to @bodiespanky. Our followers grew to over twenty two thousand along with many wonderful friendships. We felt that we would love to give back to the Pug Rescue community in someway, on behalf of Bodie and Spanky and so Blind But Not was born!!!! I decided to teach myself to knit by watching a You Tube video and make little pug scarves!! I would sell them at $25 each and give ALL the money to Pug Rescue of Florida to thank them for allowing us to rescue Bodie and Spanky!! Well, we quickly reached our goal but decided to carry on and raise money, $1000 at a time for different Pug Rescues. We are now at $39,000 raised!! Along the way Chris started to take amazing Pictures of our pugs and those of our friends. Along with many other breeds!! At our bi-annual “Pugstake” events we donated a photo shoot to the raffle which has become a very popular prize!!!
The fun that we have had photographing the pugs has led us to the creation of PUG MUG PHOTO!! We are excited to start this new venture and hope that we will be able to help you capture your best friend in a way that showcases his or her personality forever!!!!!!
